Job Overview:
A reputable law firm in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a passionate Immigration Attorney with 1–5 years of experience to join its growing EOIR practice group. This role is ideal for an attorney with a strong interest in removal defense, humanitarian relief, and family-based immigration. The position offers meaningful courtroom experience, collaboration with an experienced legal team, and significant opportunities for professional development within a supportive law firm environment.

Location:

  • Phoenix, Arizona

Duties:

  • Represent detained and non-detained individuals in removal proceedings before Immigration Court and the Board of Immigration Appeals

  • Conduct legal consultations and explain immigration options and procedures to clients

  • Visit detention facilities and conduct intake interviews with detained individuals

  • Develop case strategies and prepare clients and witnesses for court or USCIS testimony

  • Prepare and submit a range of immigration applications, including EOIR filings and family-based petitions

  • Review and revise immigration packets for accuracy and compliance

  • Draft legal briefs and motions for immigration-related matters

  • Provide legal analysis to assess eligibility for relief or available benefits

  • Engage with law enforcement, prosecutors, and community-based organizations on immigration issues

  • Collaborate with other attorneys and support staff to advance case progress

  • Manage and prioritize a caseload with attention to deadlines and client needs

Requirements:

  • 1 to 5 years of experience practicing immigration law

  • Demonstrated experience in EOIR proceedings and removal defense

  • Ability to manage and move legal cases forward independently

  • Strong commitment to serving immigrant communities

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred, but not required

  • Familiarity with family-based, detained, humanitarian, and citizenship applications

  • Preferred experience using immigration-focused case management software

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in a U.S. state

  • Member in good standing with the applicable state bar

Skills:

  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills

  • Strong legal research and writing ability

  • Organizational and time-management proficiency

  • Courtroom experience and advocacy skills preferred

  • Team-oriented mindset with a willingness to collaborate
