A reputable California-based law firm is seeking a Workers’ Compensation Defense Attorney to join its legal team. The ideal candidate will have 2–15 years of experience in handling all aspects of workers’ compensation defense and be well-versed in California labor and insurance laws. Location:

• Anaheim, CA

Duties:

• Represent employers, insurance carriers, and third-party administrators in workers’ compensation matters

• Manage a caseload of workers’ compensation claims from inception to resolution

• Conduct depositions, hearings, and trials as needed

• Prepare legal documents including pleadings, motions, and settlement agreements

• Provide legal analysis, strategy development, and risk assessments to clients

• Utilize case management systems such as MerusCase

• Maintain effective communication with clients, opposing counsel, and internal team members

Requirements:

• 2 to 15 years of experience practicing workers’ compensation law in California

• Proven litigation and trial experience in workers’ compensation defense

• Familiarity with representing both large corporations and small business clients

• Ability to manage cases independently and meet deadlines

• Comfortable working remotely or in a hybrid model

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Active member of the California State Bar in good standing

Skills:

• Deep understanding of California workers’ compensation laws and procedures

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Proficient in legal research, drafting, and negotiation

• Strong organizational and time management abilities

• Experience with legal software and case management platforms (e.g., MerusCase)
