Job Overview

A law firm seeks a junior to mid-level Fund Formation and Investment Management Associate to join its practice in Chicago. The ideal candidate will have 2-6 years of relevant experience in fund formation and investment management.

Duties

• Structure funds and management entities.
• Negotiate with institutional investors, including government pension plans and endowments.
• Handle secondary sales of LP fund stakes on both buy- and sell-side.
• Manage GP-led fund restructurings.
• Draft and review legal documents.
• Collaborate with partners, senior counsels, and clients.

Requirements

• Experience in fund formation and investment management.
• Knowledge of the Investment Advisers Act registration.
• Compliance experience.
• Understanding of the Securities Act as it relates to private investment funds.
• Strong interpersonal skills and work ethic.

Education

• JD from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active member in good standing of the Bar in the jurisdiction(s) where admitted.
