Job Overview

A law firm seeks an experienced Real Estate Litigation Attorney to join their team in Melbourne, Florida. The successful candidate will handle a variety of civil matters, land use, and real estate development work for businesses, investors, and property owners in Brevard County and beyond.

Duties

• Counsel clients on acquisition, sale, financing, leasing, and development of commercial and residential real estate.
• Draft, review, and negotiate purchase and sale agreements, leases, options, easements, restrictive covenants, development agreements, and related contracts.
• Handle land use and zoning matters, including comprehensive plan and zoning interpretations, variances, and conditional uses.
• Work with local governments, planning staff, engineers, and consultants on permitting and approvals for development projects.
• Assist with real property disputes, including boundary, easement, title, landlord/tenant, and construction litigation matters.
• Conduct legal research, prepare opinions, and provide clear, practical advice to clients.
• Collaborate with other attorneys and staff in a team-oriented, client-focused environment.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
• Active member in good standing of The Florida Bar.
• 10+ years of substantive experience in real estate law, with exposure to land use, zoning, or real estate development matters.
• Solid knowledge of Florida real estate law and familiarity with local government land use processes.
• Experience drafting and negotiating real estate contracts and development-related documents.
• Litigation experience involving real property or business disputes is strongly preferred.
• Strong writing, analytical, and oral advocacy skills.
• Demonstrated professionalism and responsiveness.

Education

• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active member in good standing of The Florida Bar.
