Job Overview:
A reputable immigration law firm is seeking a Junior Immigration Attorney specializing in Adjustment of Status (AOS) to join its team in Miami, Florida. This full-time,role focuses on helping individuals transition to permanent residency following the grant of humanitarian visas. The position is ideal for attorneys with a passion for immigration law and a strong desire to advocate for underserved communities. The attorney will work under senior legal guidance and collaborate with paralegals and case managers to deliver high-quality legal representation.

Location:

  • Miami Beach, Florida

Duties:

  • Prepare and file AOS petitions (Form I-485), Forms I-131, I-765, and related supporting documents

  • Analyze client documentation for eligibility and completeness

  • Review FOIA results for background assessments

  • Address and analyze inadmissibility grounds since the issuance of humanitarian relief

  • Develop tailored legal strategies for complex cases

  • Prepare clients for USCIS AOS interviews, including mock sessions and document review

  • Attend USCIS field interviews as required

  • Collaborate with legal and support staff to ensure comprehensive case management

  • Communicate directly with clients to ensure clarity and support throughout the AOS process

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience in immigration law, with a focus on family-based immigration and AOS cases

  • Familiarity with consular processing, waivers (I-601, I-601A), and VAWA petitions preferred

  • Experience with USCIS, EOIR, or BIA representation is a plus

  • Understanding of the intersection of criminal law and immigration consequences

  • Strong client counseling and public speaking skills

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) or Master of Laws (LL.M.) from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active license to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction

Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of U.S. immigration law, particularly AOS, family-based petitions, and related forms

  • Excellent research, writing, and legal analysis skills

  • Proficient in legal case management software and Microsoft Office

  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Strong interpersonal communication skills

  • Fluency in Spanish, Portuguese, or another commonly spoken client language highly preferred
