Family Law Attorney

Profile

A law firm in Atlanta, GA, is seeking a Family Law Attorney to assist clients in navigating sensitive legal issues such as child custody, child abuse, domestic violence, divorce, alimony, and real estate matters. The ideal candidate will be bilingual in Spanish and/or French and possess strong communication and negotiation skills to effectively represent clients in highly stressful and emotional situations.

Job Duties:

• Assist clients with family law matters including child custody, child abuse, domestic violence, and divorce proceedings.
• Handle division of marital assets, including real estate, during divorce proceedings.
• Maintain organized and up-to-date client files.
• Represent clients at court hearings and proceedings.
• Prepare legal documents such as pleadings, motions, agreements, contracts, judgments, and orders.
• Analyze client situations, understand needs, and develop strategic plans of action.
• Engage in oral debate and negotiation in highly stressful and emotional situations.
• Represent both plaintiffs and defendants in family law cases.
• Actively participate in the American Bar Association (ABA) and maintain good standing.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree with a legal background.
• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree.
• 2-3 years of experience working with family law.
• 1-2 years of experience in a law firm handling family law and real estate matters.
• Bilingual in Spanish and/or French.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Proven success in advocating for plaintiffs and defendants.
• Active involvement with the ABA.
