Senior Indirect Tax Analyst
The candidate will do research and verify tax rates and tax codes. Assist and/or manage audits from states. Stay up to date on current state and federal policies on taxation and be aware of any upcoming changes in tax law. Analyze returns and communicates trends of inconsistencies to tax leadership. Analyze, configure, and update tax software. Independently review contracts for indirect tax implications. Assist with and/or implement automation efforts. Mentor and train tax analysts. Review, Prepare and file fuel excise, occupancy, sales and use, and other various tax returns across multiple taxing jurisdictions. Resolve tax notices. Amend prior returns to correct any past issues. Prepare and file appropriate refunds. Assist tax leadership with special projects. Assist and advise other departments within the company to prevent or resolve tax issues. Reconcile work papers as assigned. Make recommendations for improvement. Other duties assigned. High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business, Prelaw, or Paralegal Certificate preferred Juris Doctor and/or LLM in Taxation is a plus. Should have 3-5 years experience in indirect tax, accounting, reconciliation, or research. Contract review experience is a plus. Excise tax experience is a plus. Should be proficient in Microsoft Office Suit; operation of standard office equipment. Strong verbal and oral communication skills are essential. keen attention to detail is needed.
