Tax Credit Paralegal/Staff Attorney
The candidate's duties include: assisting in all facets of our Tax Credit practice group, including performing due diligence, the review of title commitments and surveys, preparation and resolution of objections contained in title and survey comment letters, preparation of real estate documents, coordination and facilitation of closings, follow-up with post-closing matters, and contact with clients. Should have Bachelor’s degree and paralegal certificate are preferred and a minimum of 5 years’ experience with a large law firm in tax credit transactions or complex commercial real estate transactions (or appropriate job-related experience) is required. Must have knowledge of tax-exempt bonds, low income housing tax credits, historic tax credits, partnerships and limited liability companies a plus, but not required. Must have the ability to examine, evaluate and summarize large quantities of information. Must be proficient with word processing systems (MS Office) and document management software. Familiarity with legal research procedures and ability to perform limited to extensive topical research required. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and organizational skills are necessary. Must be a self-starter with a strong work ethic and willingness to assume responsibility for the start and completion of tasks. Must be able to work under tight deadlines and respond in a timely and professional manner to high client demands. Overtime will be required from time to time.
