Join a fast-paced, highly dynamic and commercially focused B2B (Business-to-Business) Lubricants Marketing Team, driving growth for Shell in the resilient B2B Sectors. Be prepared to be challenged and stretched, but developed significantly and have fun with a team who’s culture is very strong.

Develop & execute the overall Lubricants B2B Manufacturing, Metals & Process Oil sector strategy across channels in North America, to enable Shell to deliver its B2B accelerated growth aspirations. Manufacturing includes a variety of sub segments including plastics, paper, refining and chemicals production.

Lead the B2B Marketing Team as overall Product Portfolio Manager, consolidating the overall portfolio strategy with inputs from the various B2B Industrial Sector Managers.

Develop clear, concise sector strategies in the USA and Canada to drive growth in the respective sectors through marketing strategies and supporting initiatives and activities demonstrating the value of our brands, products, people and customer value propositions. Sector value propositions must show the ability to build revenue and increase profits for both Shell and the customer.

Participate in regular Sales Pipeline reviews with Sales Managers, Key Account Managers and Business Development Managers. Identify areas where Marketing can support improving overall Pipeline performance (generate qualified leads, cycle time, hit rate etc).

As product and pricing champion for Manufacturing, Metals & Process Oils, ensure Shell has the right product portfolio and pricing strategy (including effective cost of goods) for products that are key to winning in the respective sectors. Analyze sales data to develop strategies to grow volumes of premium products and other lubricating products (greases, coolants, compressor fluids, etc.).

Keep a continuous focus on innovation within Manufacturing, Metals & Process Oils, especially in the area of value-added technical services. Work closely with the Services Marketing Manager and Portfolio & Innovations Manager, to ensure we’re continuously innovating with our offers.

Work closely with the Distributor Marketing team to ensure sector strategies and supporting programs are fit-for-purpose across channels.

Requires strong leadership and collaboration with various roles with North America Lubricants Marketing and Sales along with other groups including Supply Chain.

Work with internal stakeholders (eg, Sales, Marketing, Technical, Supply Chain) to lead the development of sector strategies and supporting value propositions, tools, programs. Communicate to sales organization so they are clear on their role, how to sell our value propositions, etc.

Lead the implementation, tracking, measuring of specific initiatives and activities designed to grow in these sectors. Develop communications for senior management on the progress of these sector strategies / major initiatives and recommend areas of improvement.

Work with the B2B Marketing lead in the Distributor Marketing team to drive execution of the respective sector strategies in the Distributor channel.

Develop insights and recommendations for improving business sector performance through shared responsibility (along with Sales), including evaluation of the relevance and execution of value propositions, and benchmarking the product mix and price positioning.

Lead the development of the various initiatives and activities which will drive growth in the direct and indirect channels.

Support training design initiatives for our internal sales and distributor sales staff.

Requirements:

Must have legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer.

Minimum 5 years of experience in Marketing / Sales with understanding of the appropriate marketing tools and principles.

Extensive sales and/or marketing experience in B2B sectors with a track record of high performance (does not have to be lubricants related) is a must.

Industrial experience in marketing or sales is highly preferred.

Bachelor’s degree is required.

Strong financial and analytical skills.

Thorough understanding of the Lubricants market and its challenges is a must have requirement

Proven track record of success in commercial business activities; sales or marketing.

Strong business analytical and problem-solving skills, commercial mindset.

Able to work independently and with limited supervision, highly self-motivated and able to effectively manage various competing priorities.

Strong project management skills required.

Strong capacity to work under pressure and with tight deadlines; solve problems with superior engagement skill.
