A law firm seeks an Associate Attorney in the San Francisco Bay Area to join their plaintiff employment litigation team. This role offers immediate responsibility and courtroom exposure, providing a unique opportunity for professional growth and development in a dynamic legal environment.

Duties

• Manage a docket of employment law cases from intake through trial.
• Draft pleadings, discovery, motions, and trial briefs.
• Take and defend depositions.
• Appear in court for hearings and motion practice.
• Work directly with clients and contribute to case strategy.
• Participate in mediations, arbitrations, and settlement negotiations.
• Assist in trial preparation and serve as second chair when applicable.

Requirements

• Active member in good standing with the California State Bar.
• 1-6 years of litigation experience, with a preference for employment law.
• Strong legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
• Ability to manage cases independently and meet deadlines.
• Demonstrated interest in trial work and professional growth.
• Trial or substantial trial-preparation experience is a strong plus.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active California State Bar membership.

Skills

• Excellent legal research and writing abilities.
• Strong oral advocacy and communication skills.
• Proficient in case management and meeting deadlines.
