Zoning Specialist
The candidate will drafting zoning and other land use applications, notices, correspondence, findings of fact and other documents required in the zoning process. Drafting Planned unit development ordinances, text amendments and land use plans. Preparing reports and presentations for public hearings. Assisting with tracking and meeting zoning deadlines. Maintaining the Zoning Ordinances and Rules of Procedure of various jurisdictions. Assisting in the review and analysis of zoning ordinances, subdivision control ordinances and existing permits and approvals. Drafting of written commitments. Communicating with planning staff and clients with respect to pending matters. Attending public hearings and, when appropriate, present matters when requested. Other duties may be assigned as reasonably expected. High school Degree is required. Degree from a Planning Accreditation Board accredited University is preferred. Membership in the Association of Collegiate Schools of Planning is preferred. Experience as a planner for a county or municipality in Indiana or as a zoning specialist at a law firm is preferred.
