A prominent law firm is seeking an Entry-Level Immigration Associate Attorney to join its growing immigration practice group in Chicago, IL. This position offers an excellent opportunity for a newly licensed attorney or early-career professional to gain hands-on immigration law experience, manage a diverse caseload, collaborate with an experienced legal team, and grow within a dynamic and client-focused environment.

Explain immigration concepts clearly and develop strategic solutions for clients
Represent detained and non-detained individuals in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and Board of Immigration Appeals
Manage and oversee a caseload of immigration matters independently
Conduct intake interviews with detained individuals at detention centers
Prepare and file a wide range of immigration applications, including family-based immigration petitions and removal defense filings
Review immigration applications/packets and make necessary revisions
Work collaboratively with law enforcement agencies, prosecutorial offices, and community organizations regarding immigration issues
Meet with prospective clients for consultations and formulate legal strategies
Prepare clients and witnesses for court hearings and USCIS interviews
Provide legal analysis to determine case merits and benefits
Draft and submit legal briefs and related filings for various immigration cases
0 to 3 years of immigration law experience
Ability to independently manage and move legal cases forward
Strong interpersonal and client service skills
Team-oriented with a collaborative work ethic
Experience handling Family-Based Petitions, Humanitarian cases, EOIR proceedings, detained cases, citizenship applications, and USCIS filings
Experience using case management software preferred
Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required
Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
Active license to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
Strong legal research, writing, and oral advocacy abilities
Effective case strategy development and execution skills
High attention to detail and organizational abilities
Ability to clearly and compassionately explain complex legal concepts to clients
Strong time management and project management capabilities
