Job Overview

A law firm seeks a highly qualified Patent Prosecution Agent with at least three years of experience to join their Intellectual Property Practice Group in San Francisco, CA. The successful candidate will support Fortune 200 clients and more.

Duties

  • Prepare, file, and prosecute U.S. and foreign patent applications.
  • Conduct inventor interviews and collaborate with clients to identify and protect innovative technologies.
  • Prepare office action responses, conduct Examiner Interviews, and prepare other prosecution-related documents.
  • Support the development and management of domestic and international patent portfolios.
  • Stay current on emerging technologies and developments in patent law relevant to client industries.

Requirements

  • At least three years of patent prosecution experience.
  • Strong technical expertise in LTE/5G/6G Wireless Networks, computer hardware, AI, and deep learning.
  • Ability to analyze complex technologies and work directly with inventors and in-house counsel.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple matters in a fast-paced environment.

Education

  • Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering required.
  • Additional academic credentials in material science, physics, or other engineering disciplines preferred.

Certifications

  • Registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
