Duties

• Represent clients in probate court proceedings and assist in negotiations.
• Conduct thorough legal research to support case preparation.
• Draft and review legal documents necessary to advance clients' interests.
• Advise clients on their legal rights and options in post-mortem matters, including wills, estates, and trusts.
• Negotiate settlements on behalf of clients in contested probate matters.
• Maintain organized case files and ensure efficient management of client documentation.
• Collaborate with a team of attorneys and support staff to provide comprehensive client service.
• Stay informed on changes to relevant laws and regulations affecting probate cases.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Active Illinois Bar license or eligibility to obtain one.
• Minimum of 1 year of litigation experience, preferably in probate law and trust administration.
• Proficient in legal research and familiar with research tools and case management software.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to advocate effectively in court.
• Confident in court settings, with a strong understanding of the Illinois Probate Act.
• Compassionate and client-focused with a passion for helping families navigate complex legal matters.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active Illinois Bar license required.
