Privately Held Business Tax Manager

The candidate will interact closely with clients to provide innovative tax planning, consulting, and compliance expertise; providing primary and secondary review of complex tax returns, develop and manage staff and work closely with leadership and staff on client management, practice development, and business development activities. Manage multiple client service teams on client engagements; plan, execute, direct, and complete tax projects; provide innovative tax planning, consulting, and compliance expertise to clients; and actively assist in proposal activities. Supervise, train, and mentor senior associates, associates, and interns on tax projects and assess performance of staff for engagement reviews. Conduct primary and secondary review of complex tax returns; including Forms 1120S, 1120 and complex 1040; make recommendations on return preparation regarding accuracy and tax savings opportunities. Research and consult on various tax matters; utilize tax-related software to prepare and process returns and research tax matters. Respond to inquiries from the IRS and other tax authorities. Maintain active communication with clients to manage expectations, ensure deadlines are met, and enhance client relationships. Other duties as assigned. Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required. CPA, active license or JD/active law license is required. Should have 4+ years of progressive tax compliance and/or tax consulting experience in public accounting or a combination of industry and public accounting experience.
