Job Details:

• Provide competent legal advice to a book of family law clients in hearings, settlement negotiations, and mediation.
• Meet with clients to gather information, discuss case details, and provide guidance.
• Draft legal documents and pleadings, conduct legal research, and manage the discovery process.
• Maintain a solid understanding of Local Rules and their application to family law cases.
• Work independently on cases while effectively managing and expanding a client base.
• Demonstrate exemplary interpersonal and communication skills, particularly in emotionally charged situations.
• Show empathy to clients while upholding a high level of professionalism.
• Exhibit creativity and the ability to think outside the box to develop effective legal strategies.
• Organize case materials and information efficiently.
• Demonstrate energy, self-motivation, and problem-solving skills.
• Actively participate in community engagement as a representative of the firm.

Requirements:

• Licensed and in good standing with the South Carolina State Bar (Licensed in North Carolina is a plus).
• 4+ years of experience working in a family law firm.
• Ability to comprehend and apply Local Rules to family law cases.
• Strong ability to work independently on cases while maintaining and expanding a client base.
• Exemplary interpersonal and communication skills in high-stress and emotional situations.
• Maintains professionalism while demonstrating empathy to all clients.
• Creative and able to think outside of the box.
• Organized, energetic, and self-motivated.
• Problem-solving skills with the ability to identify effective solutions.
• Active members of their community.
