A law firm seeks a skilled Dispute Resolution Associate to join its team in San Francisco. The successful candidate will engage in all phases of litigation and arbitration, focusing on commercial, maritime, and transportation matters. This role offers the opportunity to work on complex, multi-jurisdictional cases and contribute to the firm's business development efforts.

Duties

• Manage state and federal insurance claims during pre-litigation and litigation phases.
• Review and analyze contracts for indemnity obligations.
• Draft pleadings, motions, and memoranda of law.
• Conduct discovery, including drafting requests and analyzing responses.
• Take and defend depositions and handle court appearances.
• Collaborate with team members to develop case strategies.
• Engage in business development activities, including writing articles and attending events.

Requirements

• 7-10 years of experience in a law firm's litigation group.
• California Bar membership in good standing.
• Experience with depositions and court proceedings.
• Strong drafting, writing, and research skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Experience with sophisticated disputes and investigations.
• Strong project management skills and attention to detail.

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) required.

Certifications

• California Bar membership required.
