Job Overview: A law firm in Chattanooga, TN, is seeking an Associate Attorney who specializes primarily in managing contested or litigated bankruptcy matters. The ideal candidate will draft and review all pleadings and claims, respond to objections and motions, attend hearings, and provide general bankruptcy-related assistance.

Duties:

• Manage contested or litigated bankruptcy matters
• Draft and review all pleadings and claims filed in specific cases
• Respond to objections and motions involving client rights
• Attend scheduled hearings
• Respond to general firm-wide bankruptcy inquiries
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:

• Law degree (JD)
• 1 year of bankruptcy and/or creditor’s rights experience preferred
• Experience representing creditors and/or debtors in Chapter 7, 11, and 13 bankruptcy cases
• License to practice law in Florida preferred
• Solid understanding of consumer loan documents
• Familiarity with bankruptcy rules/laws and general creditor rights laws
• Knowledge of Florida bankruptcy courts, local rules, and court procedures preferred
• Admitted to practice law in Florida and the Federal Districts in Florida
• Admissions in other jurisdictions and/or bankruptcy litigation experience a strong plus

Education & Certifications:

• Law degree (JD)
• License to practice law in Florida preferred
• Admissions in other jurisdictions are a plus
