Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Associate Attorney in Houston, Texas. This role involves working closely with a supervising attorney and administrative team members, focusing on client communication, legal strategy development, and case management. The position requires attending hearings, mediations, trials, and arbitrations, while maintaining and building client relationships.

Duties

• Maintain 35 billable hours per week.
• Complete tasks assigned by the supervising attorney, including legal research and drafting pleadings and motions.
• Ensure compliance with statutory deadlines.
• Participate in hearings, mediations, and arbitrations as needed.
• Assist in maintaining client communications and relationships.
• Respond to client communications promptly, typically within 24 hours.
• Prepare for strategy meetings with the supervising attorney.
• Evaluate cases to align with client goals.
• Stay informed on legal developments and complete continuing legal education.

Education

• Bachelor's degree.
• Juris Doctor or equivalent from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active license to practice law and/or membership in the State Bar of Texas.

Skills

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Ability to lift 15 pounds at times.
