Job Overview:
A distinguished law firm is seeking a Senior Environmental Transactions Attorney to join its Environmental Transactions practice. The ideal candidate will have 6–8 years of experience in environmental and energy law, including significant involvement in corporate transactions and regulatory compliance. This role involves managing environmental risk and regulatory matters across a wide range of corporate and financing transactions, especially within the energy sector. Candidates should possess deep knowledge of federal and state environmental laws, a strong understanding of the energy industry’s regulatory framework, and the ability to lead complex transactional work.

Duties:
Manage environmental aspects of M&A and financing transactions across various industries
Oversee environmental due diligence, including review and risk assessments
Draft and negotiate environmental provisions in purchase agreements and financing documents
Draft environmental disclosure language for SEC filings and public disclosures
Conduct in-depth legal research on emerging environmental and energy law issues
Provide legal counsel on environmental compliance, permitting, and restructuring matters
Advise internal deal teams and clients on regulatory strategy and risk mitigation
Requirements:
6–8 years of experience in environmental and energy law
Extensive experience with corporate transactions and environmental regulatory frameworks
Strong familiarity with federal and state environmental statutes (e.g., CERCLA, RCRA, Clean Air Act)
Demonstrated expertise in the legal and regulatory landscape of the energy sector
Proven ability to manage complex legal matters and client relationships independently
Education:
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
Strong academic background required
Law school transcript must be available upon request
Certifications:
Active membership in good standing with the bar of at least one U.S. jurisdiction
Skills:
Excellent legal writing, drafting, and negotiation skills
Deep analytical capabilities and sound judgment
Strong project management and organizational abilities
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines
Effective communicator with clients, regulators, and colleagues
