Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Immigration Litigation Attorney based in or near Spokane, Washington. The attorney may work remotely but must attend in-person hearings, court appearances, USCIS interviews, client meetings, and other litigation-related proceedings in Spokane and nearby jurisdictions as needed.

Duties

  • Represent clients in court and attend in-person proceedings as required.
  • Prepare for hearings, oral arguments, and USCIS interviews.
  • Analyze case facts, legal issues, and procedural risks.
  • Develop litigation strategies with attorneys and legal staff.
  • Draft and review motions, briefs, and other legal filings.
  • Manage multiple litigation matters with attention to detail.
  • Maintain organized case files and ensure timely completion of tasks.
  • Communicate professionally with clients, courts, and internal teams.
  • Travel as required for court-related proceedings.
  • Support a culture of preparation and client-centered representation.

Requirements

  • J.D. degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Active bar license and good standing in any U.S. state.
  • Based in or near Spokane, WA, or able to attend in-person proceedings.
  • At least 2 years of post-J.D. litigation experience preferred.
  • Strong legal writing, research, and oral advocacy skills required.
  • Experience with EOIR proceedings and USCIS interviews preferred.
  • Familiarity with federal immigration law and litigation strategy preferred.
  • Washington State Bar admission is a plus.
  • Experience with BIA appeals, federal litigation, or petitions for review is a plus.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage complex cases and high-stakes legal matters.
  • A writing sample of a legal brief or motion is required.

Education

  • J.D. degree from an ABA-accredited law school.

  • Active bar license in good standing in any U.S. state.
