A distinguished law firm in Phoenix, AZ, is seeking a driven and detail-oriented Associate Immigration Attorney to join its expanding immigration practice. This opportunity is ideal for a licensed attorney eager to build experience in both family-based and removal defense immigration matters. The role involves direct client representation, strategy development, and hands-on case management within a collaborative legal team committed to advocacy and results.
Duties:
Provide legal counsel on immigration matters and explain strategic options to clients
Represent clients detained and non-detained in immigration court and before the Board of Immigration Appeals
Draft and file applications related to removal defense, adjustment of status, naturalization, and family-based immigration
Conduct intakes and legal assessments for detained individuals at detention facilities
Collaborate with other attorneys and legal support staff on case preparation
Review and refine client filings to ensure accuracy and compliance
Participate in community engagement efforts, including presentations to advocacy groups, law enforcement, or service providers
Conduct client consultations and determine legal strategies
Prepare clients and witnesses for testimony before USCIS and immigration courts
Research legal issues and draft briefs, motions, and supporting documentation
Requirements:
Active license to practice law in any U.S. jurisdiction
Minimum of 1-4 years of direct experience handling immigration cases
Strong written and oral communication skills
Demonstrated ability to manage a high-volume caseload independently
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
Preference for bilingual (English/Spanish) candidates
Familiarity with removal defense, USCIS applications, family-based petitions, and humanitarian relief
Education:
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
Certifications:
Bar admission in good standing in any U.S. state or territory
Skills:
Excellent interpersonal and client-relations capabilities
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Proficiency with legal case management systems (preferred)
Ability to work collaboratively with attorneys and legal assistants
Passion for immigrant advocacy and public service
