Water Associate Attorney

A law firm in Fort Collins is seeking a Water Associate Attorney with a proven interest in Colorado water law to join its water team. The ideal candidate will have experience in Colorado water-related matters, including water court proceedings and water rights transactions. This position offers an opportunity to work on challenging and impactful legal matters related to water law.

Duties:

• Assist in handling Colorado water-related matters, including water court proceedings and water rights transactions.
• Conduct legal research and analysis on water law issues.
• Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, contracts, and agreements related to water rights.
• Represent clients in negotiations, mediations, and hearings related to water rights and water-related disputes.
• Provide legal advice and counsel to clients on water law matters.

Requirements:

• Proven interest in Colorado water law.
• 4-8 years of legal experience.
• Experience in Colorado water-related matters, including water court proceedings and water rights transactions.

Education:

Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

Admission to the Colorado Bar.

Skills:

• Strong interest in and understanding of Colorado water law.
• Excellent legal research and writing skills.
• Experience in water court proceedings and transactions.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.
