A law firm seeks an accomplished family law attorney to join its growing practice in Providence, RI. This role is ideal for an established attorney with a strong reputation, meaningful client relationships, and a desire to contribute to the growth of a sophisticated, client-focused practice.

Duties

• Independently manage a sophisticated caseload from consultation through post-judgment.
• Advise clients on complex divorce, custody, support, and property division issues.
• Develop case strategies, conduct discovery, negotiate resolutions, and appear in court.
• Maintain and expand client and referral relationships.
• Originate, develop, and manage new business opportunities.
• Collaborate on complex or high-stakes matters with firm attorneys and staff.
• Participate in the strategic growth of the firm's family-law practice.
• Provide mentorship to junior attorneys and staff.
• Contribute positively to the firm's collaborative culture.

Requirements

• Admission to practice in Rhode Island, Massachusetts, or both.
• At least five years of substantial family-law experience.
• An established book of business or history of originating work.
• Strong courtroom, negotiation, legal-writing, and client-management skills.
• Ability to manage matters independently while collaborating with a team.
• Excellent professional judgment, discretion, and organizational skills.
• Commitment to client service and professional excellence.
• Interest in contributing to the firm's long-term growth and leadership.
• Admission in both Rhode Island and Massachusetts preferred.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Licensed to practice law in Rhode Island, Massachusetts, or both.
