Complex Commercial Litigation Associate

Profile

A law firm seeks an experienced Complex Commercial Litigation Associate to join its team in Los Angeles. The ideal candidate will possess 2–8 years of experience in complex commercial litigation and demonstrate a strong ability to handle cases from initiation through resolution. This individual will have excellent analytical, research, writing, and communication skills, and will be able to work both independently and collaboratively within a team. Candidates with a background in Am Law 100 firms and graduates from top-tier law schools are encouraged to apply.

Duties

• Manage and litigate complex commercial disputes, including contract breaches, business torts, and other high-stakes cases.
• Draft and review key legal documents such as motions, pleadings, and discovery materials.
• Develop case strategies in collaboration with senior attorneys and clients.
• Conduct legal research on intricate commercial litigation issues.
• Represent clients in hearings, depositions, and settlement negotiations.
• Provide detailed case updates and strategic advice to clients.
• Collaborate effectively with colleagues across various legal practices to ensure optimal case outcomes.

Requirements

• 2–8 years of experience in complex commercial litigation, with a track record of handling high-value and complex cases.
• Strong understanding of commercial litigation, including discovery, motions practice, and trial preparation.
• Exceptional legal writing and research capabilities.
• Proven ability to manage cases independently while working effectively in a team environment.
• Strong problem-solving and strategic thinking skills.
• Excellent communication and client management abilities.
• Experience working at an Am Law 100 firm or similar top-tier legal background is a plus.

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active membership in the state bar (California Bar for Los Angeles location).
