Job Overview: An established law firm is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Associate Attorney with a focus on probate, estate administration, and guardianship law. Location:

Duties:

  • Meet with clients to understand their needs and concerns.
  • Analyze legal issues and provide advice on potential solutions.
  • Collaborate with clients to create effective strategies for asset distribution.
  • Represent and advocate for clients in probate and guardianship court matters.
  • Work with other attorneys and paralegals to navigate estate administration processes.
  • Draft pleadings and advocate for clients in court, including in negotiations with opposing counsel.
  • Manage cases efficiently according to established workflow protocols.
  • Resolve cases effectively through clear and consistent communication with clients and colleagues.
  • Maintain organization and accuracy in managing client files and case documentation.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Active law license in Texas, with a clean record and no substantiated complaints or investigations.
  • Minimum of 5 years of legal experience, with at least 3 years focused on estate planning, guardianship, probate, and estate administration.
  • Proficiency with Mac/Apple computers, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), and law firm case management software.
  • Strong writing and drafting skills, particularly in court pleadings and legal briefs.
  • A solutions-oriented mindset and a positive, empathetic approach to client interactions.
  • Ability to meet billable and collection requirements.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active Texas law license.

Skills:

  • Expertise in probate, estate administration, and guardianship law.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to draft legal documents, including pleadings and briefs.
