Duties

  • Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to support case strategy.
  • Represent clients in court hearings, depositions, mediations, and negotiations.
  • Maintain regular communication with clients, opposing counsel, and courts.
  • Collaborate with the managing attorney and support staff for seamless case management.
  • Assist in business development efforts, including client intake and drafting engagement agreements.
  • Stay current with changes in laws and regulations relevant to the firm's practice areas.
  • Uphold ethical standards and maintain client confidentiality.
  • Meet billable target of 30 hours per week with a minimum 40-hour in-office workweek.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active license to practice law in the state of Texas.
  • Solid understanding of the Texas Family Code and related legal procedures.
  • Prior experience as an associate attorney or clerkship preferred.
  • Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency in legal software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Commitment to professional ethics and client confidentiality.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
