Job Title: Family Law Associate Attorney

Job Overview: A well-established law firm, located in Appleton, WI, is actively seeking a dedicated Family Law Associate Attorney. This full-time, on-site role offers an opportunity to assist clients through significant family-related legal challenges. The role will primarily be based in the Appleton office with occasional travel to a secondary office. The ideal candidate will be experienced in handling contested and uncontested divorce cases, marital property agreements, adoptions, and guardianships, providing compassionate and effective legal guidance to clients during sensitive matters.

Duties:

• Represent clients in both contested and uncontested divorce proceedings, including complex, high-conflict cases.

• Draft and review marital property agreements, prenuptial agreements, and postnuptial agreements.

• Manage adoption and guardianship cases, ensuring legal compliance and smooth procedures.

• Prepare, file, and present pleadings, motions, and other essential legal documents.

• Advocate for clients in negotiations, mediation sessions, and court hearings.

• Conduct thorough legal research to support case development and formulate strategies tailored to client needs.

• Maintain regular and professional communication with clients, opposing counsel, and court officials.

• Provide legal counsel and represent clients with the highest standards of professionalism and empathy.

• Occasional travel to the firm’s Appleton location as required.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

• Licensed to practice law in Wisconsin and good standing with the State Bar.

• Minimum of 4 years of experience in family law, with a focus on divorce (contested and uncontested), marital property agreements, adoptions, and guardianships.

• Strong litigation skills, particularly in high-conflict divorce cases.

• Proven ability to manage a caseload independently and collaborate effectively within a team.

• Excellent research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

• A compassionate and client-centered approach to legal matters.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active and valid license to practice law in Wisconsin.

Skills:

• Expertise in family law, especially divorce, adoption, and guardianship.

• Strong oral and written communication skills.

• Proven negotiation and litigation capabilities.
