A law firm in New York City, NY is seeking a New York Labor Law and Fire and Casualty Litigation Attorney with 5+ years of significant experience in handling New York labor law and fire and casualty claims. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience managing cases from inception through trial. Admission to the New York Bar is required, and admission to the New Jersey Bar is a plus.

Duties:

• Handle all aspects of labor law and fire and casualty claims, from case inception through trial.
• Manage and represent clients in New York labor law cases, including workplace accidents and safety violations.
• Litigate fire and casualty claims involving property damage, insurance disputes, and personal injury.
• Conduct thorough investigations and legal research to support case strategies and arguments.
• Draft and file legal pleadings, including complaints, answers, and motions.
• Prepare and respond to discovery requests, including interrogatories and document production.
• Represent clients in depositions, mediations, arbitrations, and trials.
• Advise clients on legal rights and options, and develop case strategies tailored to their needs.
• Negotiate settlements and manage case resolutions effectively.
• Collaborate with other legal professionals, including paralegals and expert witnesses, to support case preparation and presentation.
• Stay updated on relevant laws, regulations, and case law in New York and potentially New Jersey.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• 5+ years of experience handling New York labor law and fire and casualty claims.
• Proven track record of managing cases from inception through trial.
• Admission to practice in the New York Bar (required).
• Admission to the New Jersey Bar (preferred but not required).

Certifications:

• Admission to the New York Bar (required).
• Admission to the New Jersey Bar (preferred).
