Job Overview

A law firm seeks a mid-level associate for its Government Contracts and National Security Practice Group in Washington, D.C. The role involves engaging in a diverse range of litigation, investigation, export control, cybersecurity, mergers and acquisitions, and counseling work.

Duties

• Litigate complex contract award challenges for aerospace and defense companies.
• Negotiate agreements with government entities, including OTAs, CRADAs, and TIAs.
• Advise on grant requirements and compliance for recipients and subrecipients.
• Participate in federal audits, enforcement actions, and controversies with awarding agencies.
• Engage in mergers, acquisitions, and transactions involving government contractors.

Requirements

• Minimum of three years of legal experience in government contracts law.
• Strong research, writing, and analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Experience as a judicial clerk for the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit or the Court of Federal Claims is preferred.
• Academic training in government contracts law is advantageous.
• Licensed or eligible to become licensed to practice law in Washington, D.C.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Bar admission in Washington, D.C. or eligibility to obtain.

Skills

• Excellent academic credentials and references.
• Interest and knowledge in mergers, acquisitions, and government contractor transactions.
