A law firm seeks a mid-level associate to join its Fintech and Financial Services practice in New York, NY. This role involves advising on regulatory counsel, complex transactions, and digital finance matters, serving clients from established financial institutions to innovative fintech and crypto companies.

Duties

• Advise clients on federal and state regulatory requirements, including licensing and compliance frameworks.
• Counsel on payments regulation, money transmission laws, and digital assets.
• Lead and support M&A transactions and capital markets activities.
• Draft and negotiate complex commercial agreements.
• Monitor and analyze regulatory developments, providing actionable guidance.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on cross-border transactions.

Requirements

• 3-5 years of experience at a top-tier law firm or relevant regulatory agency.
• Substantive experience in fintech regulatory matters or financial services transactions.
• Knowledge of payments, digital assets, or emerging fintech business models preferred.
• Admitted to practice in New York and/or California, or eligible for admission.
• Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
• Strong entrepreneurial mindset.

Education

• J.D. from an accredited law school with strong academic credentials.

Certifications

• Admitted to practice law in New York and/or California.

Skills

• Ability to distill complex regulatory issues for clients.
• Comfort operating in a fast-moving, innovative practice area.
