Duties

  • Draft and prosecute patent applications before the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
  • Review and analyze patents and technical documents for case preparation.
  • Evaluate the patentability of innovations.
  • Prepare, draft, and file patent applications and registrations.
  • Conduct patentability, invalidity, freedom to operate (FTO), and evidence of use searches.
  • Track the patent application process from start to finish.
  • Review documents for responsiveness to subpoenas and discovery requests.
  • Maintain and manage documentation processes related to patent laws, regulations, and procedures.
  • Assist with intellectual property infringement litigations.
  • Participate in interviews with examiners at the USPTO.
  • Stay updated with legal developments in the intellectual property field.
  • Handle special projects and additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 1-3 years of experience in patent-related work.
  • Strong technical background in electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, or physics.
  • Experience in drafting and prosecuting patent applications is required.
  • Preferred experience in litigation, post-grant processes, or large law firm environments.
  • Excellent academic record and superior organizational and communication skills.
  • Commitment to exceptional client service and a creative, entrepreneurial perspective on IP.

Education

  • Registration with the USPTO is required.
  • Bachelor's degree required.

Certifications

  • USPTO registration.
