The candidate will conduct high-level and detailed analyses of proposed or final regulations and legislation. Develop organizational responses or positions relative to existing, proposed or potential policies. Develop strategies to mitigate or leverage the impact of public policy. Educate business leaders on the consequences or opportunities of legislation and regulation. Collaborate with America’s Health Insurance Plans (AHIP), while representing BCBSM in industry meetings, and discussions on public policy and advocacy approach. Develop and present executive-level presentations on public policy concerns, recommendations and advocacy. Advise executives and directors on advocacy positions, advocacy strategy and implementation requirements. Proactive idea generation and advocacy strategy development to improve public policy and achieve organizational goals to improve access to health care, improve health care quality and reduce health care cost. Maintain knowledge of the evolving policy and political environment and remain current on public opinions. Lead collaboration meetings with internal stakeholders to understand analyses, disseminate details, discuss advocacy positions and develop strategies on policy changes.
