Job Overview

A leading national law firm is currently seeking a California-barred attorney to join its Healthcare Practice Group, a specialized subgroup within its Consumer Financial Services division. This position offers the opportunity to work on sophisticated healthcare litigation matters, including ERISA benefits disputes, payor-provider contract issues, reimbursement claims, and consumer healthcare coverage litigation. The ideal candidate will possess strong courtroom, research, and writing experience, along with a solid understanding of the healthcare regulatory landscape.

Location

• San Diego, CA

Duties

• Represent clients in complex healthcare litigation in both state and federal courts

• Handle ERISA benefit claims, regulatory disputes, and out-of-network reimbursement cases

• Advise healthcare clients on compliance with applicable federal and state regulations

• Draft pleadings, motions, legal briefs, and discovery requests/responses

• Conduct legal research and develop case strategies

• Participate in hearings, mediations, and depositions

• Maintain direct client interaction throughout the litigation process

Requirements

• Admission to the California State Bar

• Demonstrated experience in healthcare litigation or related complex commercial litigation

• Familiarity with ERISA, reimbursement litigation, and healthcare compliance laws

• Prior clerkship experience is strongly preferred

• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

• Strong academic record required

Certifications

• Active and in good standing with the California State Bar
