A law firm seeks a senior commercial litigation attorney at the Counsel or Junior Partner level to join their office in Bethesda, MD. This role is ideal for an attorney seeking meaningful responsibility and autonomy, with the opportunity to lead commercial litigation matters and supervise junior attorneys.

Duties

• Lead and manage commercial litigation cases from inception through resolution.
• Serve as day-to-day lead counsel on assigned cases.
• Supervise and mentor junior attorneys as needed.
• Take and defend depositions, argue motions, and handle trial work.

Requirements

• 10-20+ years of substantial commercial litigation experience.
• Ability to independently manage cases.
• Active Virginia bar admission required; DC and/or MD a plus.
• A small portable book of business (approximately $200K+).

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Bar admission in Virginia; additional admissions in DC and/or MD preferred.

Skills

• Strong leadership and case management skills.
• Excellent communication and advocacy abilities.
• Proficiency in taking and defending depositions.
• Experience in arguing motions and trial work.
