About the Role:

We are an established and expanding law firm specializing in bankruptcy and consumer protection looking to bring on an Associate Attorney. If you are a recently licensed attorney or looking to switch gears, this could be a beneficial opportunity for you. This role is perfect for someone who's looking to build a strong foundation in bankruptcy law and litigation. You'll work with highly experienced and approachable supervising attorneys, who are willing to teach as much as you're willing to learn. The best fit applicant is motivated, reliable and excited to grow with us and in their legal career.

What You'll Do: 

• Oversee a variety of consumer and small business bankruptcy matters (primarily Chapters 7 & 13, with some Chapter 11)
• Draft motions, pleadings, and other filings 
• Research legal issues and prepare memos
• Conduct signing appointments to consult clients on the specifics of their financial situations 
• Attend hearings and work closely with trustees and support staff.  

What We're Looking For: 

• A JD from an accredited law school 
• Bar admission (or waiting on results)
• Strong writing and communication skills 
• A good attitude and willingness to learn- we don't expect you to know it all, but we do expect you to show up ready to grow 
• Any background or coursework in bankruptcy or financial law is a bonus, but not required
