Senior Attorney/Lawyer needed for Bloomington office

This position offers the opportunity to work on a wide range of family law matters, including divorce, legal separation, paternity actions, and estate planning. Location:

• Bloomington, IL

Duties:

• Prepare and draft legal documents for filing with appropriate entities.
• Draft pleadings and motions, including judgments and orders.
• Correspond with attorneys, court personnel, and clients regarding cases.
• Interview witnesses for court cases and prepare them for testimony.
• Ensure the accuracy of all documents prepared.
• Promptly appear in court for all cases assigned.
• Manage all aspects of cases assigned, from initial consultation through resolution.
• Perform administrative duties, such as filing, mailing, and organizing legal files and pleadings.
• Conduct legal research on issues pertinent to cases.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• IL state bar license required.
• Family law experience preferred, but not mandatory.
• Senior Associate roles are available for attorneys with five or more years of litigation experience.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to manage a caseload independently while maintaining attention to detail.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• IL State Bar membership required.

Skills:

• Proficiency in legal writing and document drafting.
• Strong research and analytical abilities.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to interact professionally with clients, court personnel, and colleagues.
• Ability to handle a caseload independently and work collaboratively as part of a team.
• Trial experience preferred, but not required.
