Job Overview:
A Los Angeles-based civil defense litigation firm is seeking an Associate Attorney to join its dynamic team. The firm represents insured and self-insured entities across a variety of industries including manufacturing, transportation, hospitality, retail, real estate, finance, government, and education. The position offers hands-on litigation experience and opportunities for professional development under the mentorship of senior attorneys.

Location:

• Los Angeles, California

Duties:

• Represent clients in all stages of civil litigation

• Prepare pleadings, motions, and discovery documents

• Conduct legal research and case analysis

• Investigate facts and evaluate liability and damages

• Take and defend depositions

• Make court appearances and argue motions

• Prepare for and assist at trials

• Communicate and provide updates to clients

• Maintain case calendar and manage work in progress

• Collaborate with senior attorneys for case strategy and guidance

Requirements:

• 2 years of litigation experience preferred

• Experience in depositions and law & motion practice

• Comfortable handling multiple cases and deadlines

• Demonstrated ability to work independently and within a team

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Active and in good standing with the California State Bar

Skills:

• Strong legal writing and oral advocacy skills

• Effective legal research and analytical abilities

• Strong organizational and case management skills

• Professional demeanor suitable for client interaction and court appearances

• Ability to work in a fast-paced litigation environment
