A law firm in Dallas, TX, is seeking an Attorney with at least 1 year of experience representing clients in a law firm. The role involves determining case strategies, providing legal counsel, performing research, and drafting various legal documents. The attorney will specifically focus on nursing home abuse and corporate malfeasance related to the operation/management of nursing homes and assisted living facilities. The ideal candidate should be a member of the local Bar association (active membership preferred) and possess proficiency in legal research software and tools.

 

Duties:

  • Determine case strategies and solutions to meet clients' needs after thorough analysis.
  • Provide legal counsel to clients by analyzing their needs and determining appropriate courses of action.
  • Perform legal research on nursing home abuse and corporate malfeasance related to nursing homes and assisted living facilities.
  • Draft briefs, pleadings, and motions, and prepare legal documents for clients.
  • Argue motions in court during legal proceedings.
  • Analyze statutes, regulations, and case law to build compelling legal arguments.
  • Stay updated on changes in laws and precedents relevant to nursing home abuse litigation.
  • Draft, file, and argue motions in state and federal courts.
  • Prepare and respond to pleadings, motions, and appellate briefs.
  • Develop persuasive legal briefs and memoranda.
  • Collaborate with the legal team to develop effective case strategies.
  • Manage and oversee all aspects of assigned cases, ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Conduct legal analysis to assess the strengths and weaknesses of cases from a legal strategy perspective.
  • Be an active member of the local Bar association.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • 1+ years of experience representing clients in a law firm.
  • Active membership in the local Bar association (preferred).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Proficient in legal research software and tools.

 

Skills:

  • Strong legal research and analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to argue motions in court effectively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Thorough knowledge of nursing home abuse litigation and related areas.
  • Case management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a legal team.
  • Attention to detail and adherence to deadlines.
