Associate Professional Liability Attorney

Profile

A law firm seeks an Associate Professional Liability Attorney to join its Harrisburg, PA, office. In this full-time role, you’ll defend professional clients, such as school districts and other organizations, in civil litigation matters, with opportunities for client-facing responsibilities and collaborative practice development.

Duties

• Defend professional liability matters, including employment disputes, school-law claims, and miscellaneous malpractice actions

• Draft and file motions, pleadings, discovery requests, and responses

• Represent clients at depositions, mediations, and court hearings

• Counsel and collaborate directly with school administrators and other professional stakeholders

• Coordinate with senior attorneys to develop case strategy and manage workflow

• Mentor junior team members and liaise with support staff to ensure timely case progression

Requirements

• 2–5 years of civil defense litigation experience

• Demonstrated interest or experience in defending professional liability claims (employment, education, malpractice)

• Strong written and verbal advocacy skills and confidence in client interactions

• Proven ability to manage multiple matters independently

• Excellent organizational, analytical, and negotiation abilities

• Admission to practice in Pennsylvania in good standing

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications

• Active Pennsylvania Bar membership
