Job Overview:
A nationally recognized law firm is seeking a skilled Transportation Of Counsel to join its Orange County, CA office. This position focuses on defense litigation with an emphasis on transportation, motor vehicle accidents, and trucking-related matters. The ideal candidate will have substantial litigation experience, excellent case management skills, and a collaborative approach to client service. A flexible, hybrid working arrangement is available.

Location:

• Costa Mesa, California

Duties:

• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, legal memoranda, and other legal documents

• Attend and represent clients at court hearings, depositions, and mediations

• Independently manage a litigation caseload from inception to resolution

• Collaborate with attorneys and teams across offices to ensure effective case management and strategy

• Communicate with clients regularly to provide updates and strategic advice

• Participate in discovery processes, including drafting and responding to discovery requests

• Engage in cross-examination of plaintiffs and other fact witnesses when necessary

• Support trial preparation with potential second chair trial responsibilities

Requirements:

• Minimum of 8 years of defense litigation experience

• Proven experience handling transportation, motor vehicle accident, and trucking matters preferred

• Strong background in drafting discovery and pretrial motions

• Experience cross-examining plaintiffs and fact witnesses is desirable

• Ability to handle court appearances, mediations, and depositions independently

• Trial or second-chair trial experience considered a plus

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications:

• Admission to practice law in the state of California
