Job Title: Intellectual Property Associate Attorney - Litigation

Job Overview:
A prominent law firm based in Minneapolis, MN, is seeking a detail-oriented and driven associate to join its dynamic Intellectual Property Litigation team. The role involves engaging in sophisticated patent litigation matters for a diverse portfolio of national and international clients. This opportunity provides hands-on experience and long-term growth in a collaborative legal environment, with a hybrid work schedule of two to three days in the office.

Duties:

• Represent clients in all phases of patent litigation, including pre-suit investigations, pleadings, discovery, claim construction, summary judgment, trial, and appeals

• Collaborate with attorneys, technical experts, and clients on litigation strategy

• Conduct legal research and draft memoranda, motions, and briefs

• Participate in depositions, witness preparation, and trial preparations

• Communicate with clients to provide updates and manage expectations

• Assist with business development initiatives and contribute to practice group meetings

Requirements:

• 1-3 years of intellectual property litigation experience

• Demonstrated interest or background in complex patent disputes

• Federal judicial clerkship experience is highly preferred

• Strong legal writing and oral advocacy skills

• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

• Strong academic credentials required

Certifications:

• Admission to practice in at least one U.S. jurisdiction

• Eligibility for admission in Minnesota

Skills:

• Technical background in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or computer science strongly encouraged

• Proficiency in legal research tools and litigation software

• Exceptional attention to detail and organizational abilities

• Clear, concise communication style for both legal and technical audiences

• Client service-oriented mindset

Job Location:

• Minneapolis, MN (Hybrid schedule: 2–3 days in-office)
