Paralegal II
The candidate will provide support for attorneys, investigators and mitigation specialists in the Public Defender office. Reports to the Public Defender of the Charlottesville Office and is employed at will. Assist attorneys with review of Body Worn Camera and other video evidence. Assist attorneys in reviewing recorded jail calls. Communicate with clients and witnesses. Legal research and drafting. Assist attorneys in retrieving and reviewing discovery and submitting discovery responses. Assist attorneys in preparing cases for trial. Other duties as assigned. Should preferable have Four-year degree or paralegal certification from an ABA accredited program. Paralegal experience including conducting legal research is desired. Should have Strong analytical skills and demonstrated ability to organize and analyze complex information. Strong written and verbal communication skills are required. Must have excellent proofreading skills and attention to detail. Bilingual in English / Spanish preferred.
