Energy Regulatory Associate Attorney

Profile

A law firm in Madison is seeking an experienced Energy Regulatory Associate Attorney with 4-5 years of energy transactional and/or regulatory litigation and compliance experience. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in handling regulatory and compliance matters before the Texas Public Utility Commission and other state energy regulatory commissions, as well as experience with matters involving the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) or other ISO/RTOs or organized power markets.

Job Details:

• Handle regulatory and compliance matters before the Texas Public Utility Commission and other state energy regulatory commissions.
• Experience with matters involving the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) or other ISO/RTOs or organized power markets.
• Advocacy experience before state utility commissions is beneficial.
• Knowledge of power transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, power sales, and related matters.
• Provide legal counsel on regulatory and compliance issues in the energy sector.
• Handle matters related to the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) and other ISO/RTOs or organized power markets.
• Advocate before state utility commissions.
• Advise on power transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, and power sales.

Requirements:

Active Bar license in the state.

Education:

Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Experience:

4-5 years of energy transactional and/or regulatory litigation and compliance experience.

Skills:

• Strong academic record.

• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work well in a team.
• Effective management of multiple projects.
• Articulate legal strategies and courses of action.
