Job Overview:
A prominent law firm is seeking a Senior Associate Attorney with a strong background in litigation to join its Energy Regulatory practice in Dallas. This role will focus on condemnation litigation and related legal issues, especially within the electric utility sector. The ideal candidate will have 6–8 years of experience and a working knowledge of eminent domain, regulatory frameworks, and the energy industry in Texas.

Location:

  • Dallas, Texas

Duties:

  • Handle complex condemnation litigation cases for energy and utility clients

  • Draft and respond to pleadings, motions, and discovery

  • Represent clients in hearings, depositions, and court proceedings

  • Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda on regulatory and litigation matters

  • Collaborate with regulatory teams on proceedings involving the Public Utility Commission of Texas (PUCT) and the Railroad Commission of Texas (RRC)

  • Advise clients on litigation strategy and legal risks associated with energy infrastructure projects

Requirements:

  • 6–8 years of litigation experience

  • Experience in condemnation or eminent domain litigation

  • Familiarity with Texas administrative or regulatory law

  • Comfortable managing complex litigation matters independently and within teams

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in the State of Texas

  • In good standing with the Texas Bar

Skills:

  • Expertise in litigation procedures including motion practice, discovery, and hearings

  • Strong writing and oral advocacy skills

  • Knowledge of Texas condemnation law and administrative proceedings

  • Familiarity with regulatory agencies such as PUCT and RRC is a strong advantage

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
