Job Overview

A law firm seeks a senior associate or partner-level Trusts and Estates Attorney in the New York City Metropolitan Area. The candidate will have the opportunity to originate new business, grow existing relationships, and collaborate with the residential real estate practice.

Duties

• Advise on and implement sophisticated estate planning techniques.
• Prepare complex estate planning documents.
• Manage all aspects of estate administration, including Surrogate's Court documents and tax returns.
• Represent clients in gift and estate tax audits.
• Advise on business succession and charitable planning.
• Represent fiduciaries in estate and trust administration.
• Engage in business development and cross-sell other practice areas.

Requirements

• Minimum of five years of experience advising high net worth clients.
• Admitted to practice law in New York; additional admissions in NJ, CT, or FL are a plus.
• Possess a portable book of business.
• Strong understanding of federal and New York tax law for estate planning.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

• Admission to the New York State Bar.
