Job Overview:
A well-established law firm is seeking a Litigation Attorney to join its growing litigation practice group in West Des Moines, IA. The selected candidate will handle a variety of cases, including professional negligence defense, insurance disputes, personal injury, and other civil litigation matters. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney with at least one year of litigation experience to work in a collaborative and dynamic environment while gaining valuable trial experience.

Location:

• West Des Moines, IA

Duties:

• Handle cases in professional negligence defense, insurance disputes, personal injury, and other civil litigation matters.
• Conduct legal research and draft legal documents.
• Manage cases and meet deadlines effectively.
• Take and defend depositions.
• Assist in civil jury trial preparation and potentially act as first or second chair.
• Collaborate with other attorneys and legal professionals on case strategy and execution.

Requirements:

• One year of litigation experience, preferably in insurance defense or general civil litigation.
• Strong experience with legal research, writing, and case management.
• Familiarity with taking and defending depositions.
• Experience or interest in civil jury trials, preferably as first or second chair.
• Ability to manage multiple cases in a fast-paced environment.
• Candidates with less litigation experience may be considered based on qualifications.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active state bar membership (in good standing).

Skills:

• Strong legal research, writing, and case management skills.
• Experience in civil litigation and insurance defense.
• Familiarity with trial preparation and taking depositions.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Strong communication and client relationship-building abilities.
