Job Overview:
A California-based law firm is seeking an experienced Associate Attorney to join its Environment & Land Use practice group. This role is ideal for a motivated legal professional with 2–5 years of experience who has a strong interest in environmental law and regulatory matters. The firm represents both public and private clients across sectors such as renewable energy, transit, utilities, housing, and commercial development. Location:

• Denver, CO

Duties:

• Provide legal counsel on environmental and land use matters

• Conduct due diligence for land use and environmental assessments

• Assist clients with entitlements, permitting, and regulatory compliance

• Advise on CEQA and NEPA compliance issues

• Represent clients in state and federal court in defense of zoning and environmental approvals

• Work on interdisciplinary projects alongside other practice groups such as Real Estate, Infrastructure, Eminent Domain, and Government Relations

Requirements:

• 2–5 years of experience in environmental or land use law

• Demonstrated interest in environmental and regulatory issues

• Knowledge of CEQA, NEPA, and environmental/resource permitting processes

• Litigation experience related to zoning or environmental approvals preferred

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Active member in good standing with the State Bar of California (required)

• Excellent legal writing and research capabilities

• Effective communication and client service abilities

• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines

• Collaborative approach and ability to work across practice groups
