Job Overview:
A national civil litigation and insurance defense firm is seeking an experienced attorney with 12+ years of expertise in construction defect and/or insurance defense litigation. This remote, full-time position offers the opportunity to work with a dynamic team handling complex cases, including trial appearances, depositions, and settlements. The ideal candidate will be capable of managing cases independently with minimal supervision and will be licensed to practice law in Florida.

Location:

• Orlando, FL

Duties:

• Manage and litigate construction defect and insurance defense cases from start to finish.

• Handle civil litigation through trial, including taking depositions, oral arguments, and attending hearings.

• Negotiate settlements and draft legal documents such as motions and pleadings.

• Represent clients in court proceedings and ensure all case-related matters are handled efficiently.

• Provide regular updates to clients on case progress and developments.

• Work independently and manage legal assignments with minimal supervision.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 12 years of experience in construction defect and/or insurance defense litigation.

• Proven ability to handle civil cases from inception through trial with minimal supervision.

• Proficiency in taking depositions, oral arguments, and negotiating settlements.

• Strong client communication and legal writing skills.

• Must be licensed to practice law in Florida.

• Additional licensure in other states is a plus.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active membership in the Florida Bar (required).

• Additional state bar memberships are a plus.

Skills:

• Strong litigation and trial experience, particularly in construction defect and insurance defense.

• Excellent written and oral communication skills.

• Ability to work independently and manage complex cases.

• Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
