The candidate's duties include: To gather evidence and prepare individual claims for relief; Develop cases and draft pleadings and discovery for impact litigation in federal district court; Develop outreach and education materials and presentations to educate our client community regarding their rights and options; Develop and lead legal student loan legal clinics; Write comment letters, provide hearing testimony and provide legal analysis regarding for-profit school and student loan statutes and regulations at a state and national level, when requested to do so in compliance with Legal Services Corporation regulations; Work with other legal services organizations in California and nationally to coordinate widespread debt relief efforts; and Defend private student loan debt collection lawsuits and other duties as assigned.
